And you guys are ridiculous for bashing this thing. I was at
a full house and the place erupted with laughter multiple times.
Did some jokes not elict a single laugh? Sure, plenty of them.
Nothing the Goldmember-personna did worked. But what kind of standard
is THAT to hold for Myers? I watched his SNL stuff, and there
were plenty of times he did lame material. Every SNL cast member
has done horrible matieral at times. But he misses a lot
less than just about any comedian today, SNL or otherwise. Its all
relevant.

I certainly didn't go to this thing looking for a coherent plot.
I went to look for SNL-style comedy skits, and that's exactly what
I got and I was well-entertained. It did what it was meant to do.

I like the one poster's idea of spoofing the 80s. Rubik's Cube
and spandex. Myers will have a ball with that theme. Can't wait
to pay to see that one, either.

Indeed, 85,913 toilet jokes and bad SNL-ish 'spoofs' are a winning
combination for the American movie-going public.

Seriously, we're talking about the worst movie franchise ever. The first
Austin Powers film was mildly entertaining, the second one was monstrously
bad, and the third one is catastrophic. Proof that Jesus died in vain.

Worst movie franchise ever? Try watching the fifth and sixth Police Academy movies - or
for that matter, the first four - and get back to me. "Austin Powers" is like bloody
Tarkovsky compared to what passed for film comedy in the eighties.

I worked 12 hours a day all week except 1 day where I took off a
half day with vacation time. I needed those laughs. Thank you
Mike Myers!!!

Well, there's two standards that I can think of.

There's the "millionaire comedian has had a couple of years to actually
write enough jokes to fill his movie and earn his paycheck" standard.

Or the "I paid $7 and don't think it's out of line to expect a movie
that's been competently made" standard.

You hit the proverbial nail on the proberbial head. I guess the dumbing
down of American humor has reached an unprecedented nadir. The "humor" in
this latest catastrophe may go over well with most 10 year olds.
Apparently, it also goes over well with some adults too. Maybe they're not
really adults, but grown up 10 year-olds.

For the majority of folks, the comedy worked ! I am saying that more
for the first release than the others but I assume it made a ton of
money not because it was marketed so well... but because folks loved
the humor of it !
