I don't know who to write about this and since there is no email
address on the Royal Tenenbaums official site or on Buena Vista's site
I am posting in this newsgroup.

Do you know who did those paintings that Owen Wilson's character "Eli"
has in his house? One is behind Luke Wilson's character "Richie's"
head of 4 or 5 guys wearing masks and attacking some guy in Central
Park. And the other is behind Owen Wilson's character "Eli's" head of
the same 5 guys wearing masks and sitting on ATV's with their hands up
in the air. Who did these paintings? And where can I get a poster or
lithograph of these?

If you don't know the answer could you give me the details on the
proper people to contact? Thanks.

Check in www.imdb.com -- I believe one of the links (maybe miscellaneous or
full credits) gave the name of the artist.

I can't give you the answer, but I can tell you where to find it.

In the current issue of Film Comment (Gwyneth Paltrow in Tenenbaum's character
on the cover) there is an article on those paintings. You should be able to
find out all you need to know from that.

There is also a great essay on the film (and all of Anderson's films) and an
interview with Anderson as well.

My wife mentioned that it was in the film credits, but neither of us
remember. She thinks it was two people.

I liked the line drawing of the underpants.

Ok I looked it up but unfortunately that's not the current issue
anymore. And even worse the magazine doesn't have any article's,
besides one or two, from 2001 on their website
(http://www.archive.filmlinc.com/fcm/fcmarchive.htm). They do show it
on their back issue order page though Nov/Dec 2001
(http://www.filmlinc.com/fcm/fcbi/fcbi1.htm). Do you happen to have it
lying around so you can post the answer on here for posterity? Thanks.

Ok miscellaneous just shows various articles about the movie. And the
full credits doesn't really have anything specific:

Art Direction by
Carl Sprague

Set Decoration by
Carolyn Cartwright
Sandy Reynolds-Wasco

Art Department
Mark Bachman .... assistant art director
Tony Gardner (II) .... specialty props (uncredited)
Emily Klimkiewicz .... researcher
Alexandra Mazur .... assistant set decorator
Gary Wattson .... set dresser
Douglas G. Young .... set dresser

One of these people might know something. But if you're right they
probably just showed it in the movie credits somewhere. I guess I'll
have to go see again for that. Thanks.

Miguel Calderon. Wes Anderson owns the motorcycle painting, which is called
"Bad Route."

Since the site is in Flash and you can't link to it directly could you
give me some navigational cues? Like: Click on Eli's name then click
on the horsey in the lower-left hand corner or something.

Thanks,
