Ok we know Con Air is not the most original film going and it features Nic
Cage's 3rd (by my count) involvement with the city of Las Vegas after
Honeymoon in Vegas and Leaving Las Vegas. In Wild at Heart (can't
remember if it featured Vegas, probably did) Cage's character Sailor also
goes to prison, leaving behind a pregnant wife. There is also a scene rather
like the end of Con Air where he finally gets out of clink after a number of
years and meets up with his wife and the daughter that he has never met.
Cage must have had severe deja vu at the final scene in CA!!

I was thinking the same thing when I saw it. Speaking of Wild At Heart, it
took place primarily in New Orleans and Big Tuna, Texas.

He also gives his child a stuffed animal at the end of both movies

This is way off topic for movies this old but I re-watched Wild at Heart and Con Air recently and noticed the same similarities.

Wow, I'm actually responding to a nineteen year old thread to say that I too noticed these similarities. In fact, when I saw the moment in Wild at Heart when Cage meets up with Dern and his child which he gives a stuffed animal, I immediately shouted, "That's the ending to Con Air!" Seriously, I'd love to see Cage do just one more movie with this exact same ending. All the best things happen in threes.
