UNDECIDED: THE MOVIE is a 2016 film where 2 comedians (and a few
support staff) create a mocumentary where they follow around the
political candidates for an upcoming election. The thing that sets this
film apart from most efforts like this is that they have a measure of
success in filming at real political rallies with most of the 2016
Republican and Democrat Presidential runners. So, the slew of
candidates we have seen rise and fall in the TV news over the past year
make mostly unwitting cameos in this project...along with some of the
major news organizations. A few are treated unfairly, but for the most
part this film simply mocked the idea of the undecided voter...with a
nice statement at the end of the film about what is really going on with
the undecided voters. Along the way, I have no idea if the fool
politician from New Hampshire that gave them a sit down interview is
real (but I'm still sure he is) and I have no idea if Dr. Ben Carson
really did something that stupid (but I'm sure he did)...but I am sure
this mocumentary really made the news because I do remember that much.
I recommend this film far more for its effort than its success as there
were very few potential laugh out loud moments. More than anything, I
wish they had made it a half hour longer and spend all that time
interviewing more of the real people that are at these rallies. Ah
well, watch it now before it becomes stale.

Sounds interesting, especially since I have own theory about the
"undecided", which is that most who claim to be are simply people who
find themselves in the happy place every 4 years of being among the
coveted and courted, and it gives them an opportunity to act all
deliberative and thoughtful about the voting process, when they really
just come off looking like idiots to have not made up their minds fairly
early on when the contrasts are usually pretty stark. This election
cycle happens to be one of the very few where I can almost give them a
pass, since it's a choice of The Devil or The Witch wherein one has to
decide between someone who is almost assuredly either a criminal or the
most inept person to ever be nominated for the office and someone who is
just a slimy personality but not known to have actually done anything
illegal.
