Whoopi's comment about Alec Baldwin on the Oscars

Hi,

Can anyone explain to me whatever it was Whoopi said about
Alec Baldwin on the Oscar show? I think she was talking
about celebs watching the show on TV, and then made a reference
to something about Alec Baldwin, possibly that photographer-punching
incident... Anyone get the reference completely?

She seemed to be congratulating Alec Baldwin for being aquited. The
context was something about privacy or something and she was saying that
Alec Baldwin had the right to knock out the photog, which he probably
did. At least that's what I think it was.

The Jury found him "NOT GUILTY"

Which is cool, cuz he asked the guy several times to stop taking
pictures, it was a private moment with him, his wife and new born. Yeah,
yeah, yeah...the guy was only taking a picture, and he has a right to do
that......BUT when someone asks you to stop, several times - you should
stop. There are forums for picture taking and they can get the picture
then.

Just my thoughts...

i'm almost positive it was for punching that paparazzi (sp?) asshole.
especially from the response the audience gave.

personally, i'm all with that.
i think that stars shouldn't always have to watch their backs to protect
their privacy just because they're famous.
and then for him to get sued?

it was a while back, but GO ALEC!!
