Independent Indoor Percussion Comes to Maryland

BALTIMORE (June 8, 2009) – Several local percussionists are
undertaking the return of World Class marching activities to the
Baltimore area.

Cameron Willey and Joseph Kallash are heading up Chesapeake Area
Marching Programs, a 501(c)(3) (pending) youth music organization,
which will assemble an Indoor Drumline for the 2010 Indoor season.
Initially the ensemble will compete in several local indoor circuits
through the winter and spring, with plans to move into Winter Guard
International (WGI) competition by 2012.

Maryland is a historic area in the world of the Marching Arts, but
currently there are only a handful of programs left, and none
competing at the highest levels. While Chesapeake's initial goals are
to establish a competitive Indoor Drumline, long term plans include
community outreach and development to return Maryland to a leader in
the marching activity.

Chesapeake is currently running a pledge drive to raise money for this
coming indoor season and we need your help. If you are interested in
helping this plan get off the ground, please contact us at the
information provided below, and if you want to pledge your support, a
little can go a long way. Follow this link for more information
