This afternoon I heard a radio commercial for Barnum Festival featuring the
voice of John Ratzenberger who portrayed Cliff Klavan (the mailman) on Cheers!

He says "...you can get any schnauzer to play a bugle but it takes a real man
to carry a bass drum for 6 miles...."

a "real" man eh???

Has this guy had any decent roles since Cheers! ended 7 years ago? Where the
hell is Carla when you need her?

If I'm nor mistaken, John Ratzenberger marched with the Conn. Royal Lancers in
the 60's.

And to degenerate this thread into yet another "Star Wars" thread,
he appeared briefly in "The Empire Strikes Back".

Unless you know, you'll miss it. He plays Major Derlin, one of
the officers in the hangar on Hoth. He has one line, and I think it
may have been dubbed by another actor.

To go even further afield, he appeared in the last episode of a British
mini-series from the late 70's called "The Secret Army", about the WWII
pipeline to get downed aircrews back to England from Belgium. He was in
the liberating American Army as it moved through Belgium pushing the
Germans back. Great show; PBS used to run it every few years or so.

In article <19990611132541...@ng-ft1.aol.com>,

I wonder what happened to the Disney executive who thought that it would
be a great idea to remake "That Darn Cat". :-)

Probably got a promotion.
