Former county teacher gets nine years in prison
Secret taping of four girls at Ballenger Creek Middle leads to
sentencing

A former Ballenger Creek Middle School band and drama teacher was
sentenced to nine years in prison after pleading guilty last week to
secretly using his cell phone to film four of his students while they
were changing for a school play.
Adam Windsor, 26, of Hagerstown heard from the four girls and their
families on Dec. 2 during a plea hearing in Frederick County Circuit
Court.
In emotional statements, each girl told Circuit Court Judge Julie
Stevenson Solt how their lives changed after he violated their privacy
and robbed them of their ability to trust people.
The girls, who are 12 to 14 years old, told Solt how they had to ward
off rumors at school, how they still fear someone is watching them and
are still struggling to trust adults and teachers.
One of the girls, who spent four months in counseling, broke into
tears before she could finish her statement. "It has been a very
difficult time to trust people," she said before breaking down.
The Gazette is not naming the girls or their parents because they are
victims of a crime.
The girls' parents told Solt that Windsor's "sick game" stole their
daughters' innocence, caused some of them to fall behind in school,
and affected their entire families.
One girl's father said his daughter had to rearrange all her classes
this year because she cannot bring herself to go in the part of the
school where Windsor secretly filmed her. "He created incredible pain
upon myself, my family and my daughter," he said. "He violated these
girls."
Windsor did not look at the girls while they made their statements. He
spoke calmly when he answered Solt's questions, and pleaded guilty to
one charge of sexual abuse of a minor, a felony, and four counts of
visual surveillance with prurient intent, a misdemeanor.
The reason Windsor was charged with sexual abuse is because one of the
girls was filmed in her bra, said Lyndell Kay Angel, assistant state's
attorney for Frederick County.
Windsor and his attorney, Raphael Santini of Baltimore, refused to
respond to a reporter's questions after the hearing.
Federal agents discovered the videos of the girls, taped in November
2008, while investigating Windsor in the spring for subscribing to a
child pornography Web site, Angel said.
Windsor was sentenced Dec. 1 to nine years in federal prison and
placed on lifelong probation for subscribing to that site, Angel said
during the Dec. 2 hearing.
He is not allowed to have any contact with his victims and will have
to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, Angel said.
The Dec. 2 hearing was to settle the state charges of sexual abuse and
secretly taping the girls.
Solt sentenced him to an additional 25 years in prison for those
charges, but suspended 16 of them. He will serve nine of them
concurrently with the nine years he is serving in federal prison.
After completing his nine-year prison sentence, Winsor will be placed
on probation for five years, the strictest possible in Maryland, Solt
said.
If he violates the terms of that probation, he will have to serve the
remaining 16 years of his suspended sentence in state prison, Solt
said.
After announcing the sentence, Solt expressed concern for the victims
and their families. "I hope for the girls and their families that this
will close a chapter and the healing has already begun," she said.

Here's the problem for you, George.
You claim that I "enjoy" all this. Meanwhile, while you pretend that
these stories are no big deal, you criticize a person who is
criticizing such stories.
And then, while again ignoring the actual stories, you pretend to slam
me for somehow being "one of them". Unfair standards, unfairly
applied, George. You have just undercut yourself once again. Thus,
you state that it's not the actual type of behavior you care about at
all. The only thing you care about is attacking me, and you choose a
dishonest, back-handed, and dishonest way of doing it - a way which is
all about power which corrupts standards.
Just like the DCIA "evolution". I am not surprised.
Slam me all you like. But then, you will have to slam all those
instructors, many of whom still post here, and many of whom still work
in DCI, who came up along with me in 1970s California. Not that I
would expect you to do so. But do keep on modeling the sort of
arrogant denial that DCIA actually is, while EVERYONE else markets the
"activity" as this wonderful character-building group for young
people.

Not a problem at all. You do enjoy it CB and I never said the stories
"are no big deal"...your words not mine. You are the one who
trivializes each of these tragic stories with your every post and how
you try to tie them to DCI or DCA...when there is no connection at
all. Thats just sick and sad all at once.

people as you were...maybe that explains your lack of expectations.

It is a wonderful character building activity...too bad it didn't work
for you. Maybe you have to have some sort of character to build
