Apparently, after numerous positive reccomendations by many people in the
activity, Mr. Morlot made a "FINAL" decision not to hire Ms. Metzler. BIG
MISTAKE!
In case you haven't looked at the DCA recaps and didnt get the opportunity to
notice, the Buccaneers Colorguard finished 2nd both in Prelims and in Finals,
which was higher than the Buccaneers placed overall and higher than some of
their other captions. From what I've heard, Mr. Morlot spoke with Mr. Gruber ,
Director of the Buccaneers, and Mr. Gruber apparently had a few "not so
positive" comments to share with Jay Morlot.
If this truly happened, I have totally lost all respect for Jimmy Gruber.
Hmmm?...I am clueless to come to any conclusion why anyone in their right mind
wouldn't have taken this talented young lady to run a program that is truly in
a re-building process, and in shambles where colorguard is concerned. From
what I know, the Reading Buccanners Colorguard was an extremely young and raw
group of young people that Ms. Metzler and her staff groomed into a 2nd place
finishing team at the 2002 DCA Finals.
Amy Metzler, and her staff are truly "saints" for being able to get the Reading
Buccaneers colorguard where they finished in 2002!
Jay Morlot is a fool for making a bad decision. And rumor also has it that
Scott Marshman is in the running?!?!
Very disturbed by all of this and glad I am not marching anymore.
However, your outburst hasnot helped in any way. I also know Jim gruber, and he
isn't the type of person to badmouth anyone.
I reccomend you apologize to all involved.

The corps will not make any comments about the staff for 2003 until it's
decisions are finalized.

So, your entire attack here is based on rumor? Isn't that classy and
profeesional way to approach this.

There were issuses this past season with the colorguard at the Bushwackers.
Steps are being taken to ensure that the guard program will be back where it
belongs in 2003. Many people will be considered for the guard position. Only
1 will be hired.

I don't doubt the truth in that at all. Does this mean that she "has" to be
hired for the Bushwackers?

I'm glad you're not marching any more too. Whoever you are, cowardly nameless
poster...
Before anyone accuses me of the same thing... I though I had my signature set
to be on the end of my posts. My name is Alex Nielsen and I have been a
marching member of the Bushwackers since 1992.

Hi Amy,
Without regard to whatever is happening, I just wanted to tell you how sweet the
Buccaneers guard looked this year. You did a nice job with them!
