Or you COULD just go to see real drum corps at http://www.dci.org

Or http://www.dcacorps.org

Either brings you to real drum corps.

I must have missed the announcement about DCI and DCA corps going back to
G-Bugles and playing music the average person (fan) can recognize.
When did it happen?

still several potent lines in DCA) the show thing is definitely better
in DCI...CERTAINLY in DCA. You wouldn't go wrong just hangin' in DCA
if you can't abide the DCI corps...

Sorry Charlie..

I've been there and done that.

Why isn't IT simply about DRUM AND BUGLE? Forget about marching. the
CORPS part of it.

You do KNOW that the DRUMS have been taken out of DRUM AND BUGLE
corps. Right?

You do KNOW that the BUGLE has been taken out of DRUM AND BUGLE
corps. Right?

...no, I don't *know* that, Sharon.

I do know, however, that I had a helluva great time getting my doors
blown off by some wonderful horn lines last weekend plus some powerful
drum lines. Hornline that won, Empire, is in G...Renegades who peeled
the Paetek paint were in G (and a bunch of my KAC buddies marched with
them) Those are traditional instruments (well, a lot of valves out
there!)...Reading was in Bb and won the Gold, Minnesota was in Bb and
was second. I honestly don't see the big deal?! There were lots of
"old" folks out there performing (in fact, I'm only a year away from
performing a full field show...carrying the only 4-valve G Contra ever
made by Kanstul...at the ripe old age of 60...)...are they all
perverse in some way? Is the fact that you can see the ushering of
old traditions by old to new, with great spirit and camaraderie, such
a BAD thing?

What is wrong with you?

How long since you've been to a DCA championship, Sharon?

Is it so hard to enjoy great performance? Does it feel good to feel
bad so consistantly?

Save yourself some time and effort.

Don't bother yourself.

I agree on ONE thing. Whether or NOT there is still a genre called
DRUM AND BUGLE CORPS..

If YOU can't commit? That is on YOU!

WOW!

DOES ANYONE THINK THAT THIS SORT OF COMMENT SHOULD RING AN ALARM?

Has this newsgroup become so nondescript that a comment like THAT
should be let go?

I'm sorry. Whether HE is your FRIEND or not.

THAT should be addressed.

Apparently... I wasn't talking to you. You are a jackass that can't
commit to writing about a single thing that counts when speaking about
the direction of drum and bugle corps. YOU are along for the ride.

In effect... YOU got my point across. Because those that seem to have
the job at hand...promoting and PROLONGING... drum and bugle corps...
can't (or won't) even reply...

It's become up to you.

One can only hope that the band (hmmm.... no WONDER - BAND rules!)
wagoners... SAVE drum and bugle corps. Because the SAVIORS won't.
THEY can't even respond to a detractor with legitmate concerns.

BTW? Ask anyone.... Is there a difference between Charles Groh and
George Hopkins?

Rocky? Actually... I watched that movie AFTER the corps I became
intimately involved with "became" closely associated with the music
from that movie. I was slightly embarrassed... at first when it was
MY turn in THAT circuit. But I soon realized that Senior Corps was
ABOUT signature music. I'm proud to this day about my participation
with a corps that made "Rocky" a GREAT drum corps song.

So Charles... You were saying?

Not in my opinion. You YAHOOOS... that THINK that drum and bugle
is... because YOU say it is? Never made sense to me.

Mr Groh? YOU are Mr Hopkins... and Mr Hopkins is YOU!

What kills me? Is that YOU had IT when it was YOUR time FOR drum and
bugle corps. And YOU let others.. And so did Mr Hopkins. Yep you
LET...

Too bad that YOU both wasted your talents. ON-(for Mr Hopkins...
bands... for your YOUR contemporaries that THINK that what Mr Hopkins
thought) YOUR choices.

Tellling DRUM AND BUGLE CORPS to

BE ... a BAND.

Bands is a total waste of time And isn't THAT what you do? MAKE drum
and bugle corps be BANDS?

Sorry Mr Groh...

I've fought OTHER people on this subject. Those that seem to "think"
that by their MERE participation makes THEM and a BAND that THEY
particpate in A drum and bugle corps... and that makes THEM.

Sorry... Not according to ME. And too bad there weren't OTHER
participants here to say so.

Oh wait...They can probably say so on DCP.

Will THEY?

Me? Absolutely not.

I'm one of THOSE people that decided that THOSE that RAN RAMD was a
bunch of fools and narcissists. I decided that some of the RAMD
posters were absolutely wrong with what they wrote... how they
wrote... and HOW they wrote.. Particularly...some of your friends.

It wasn't anyone like me that ruined RAMD.. that ruined it for YOU and
YOUR friends. YOU and YOUR friends that ran off to DCP (because it's
a controlled enviroment [again.. by YOUR friends]. And came back to
RAMD for shits and giggles when YOU didn't get what you wanted over at
DCP.

By the mere fact that DCP is on your radar? Means that you are one of
the ones that can dish it out but you can't take it.

You want to say what you want when you want to..AND have the comfort
of an enclosed enviroment (with support) to say what you want. The
BEST part? You have no repercussions. Idn't that great? And THEN...
You come back to RAMD to say that those of us who have a problem with
an enclosed (albeit CLAUSTROPHOBIC) enviroment have done an open
enviroment wrong just by posting?

IMHO, that is why YOU belong over at DCP. Those of us that takes our
lumps with an open enviroment... along with arrogant uppity asswipes
such as YOU get to say you are an arrogant uppity asswipe.

Yes, and they won becuase they had the money behind them. I don't like
what they have done to what WAS drum & BUGLE corps, but I understand
the HOW and WHY. Still don't like it but I'm not powerful enough to

Oh, I beg your parden. Posting to DCP was a game to get around Mike
Davis and the rules. I would post different ways of spelling the words
on the banned list just to drive them nuts. My first posts there were
all about censorship. You might want to check some facts.

I'm the REMINDER of what it's like to be a poster on RAMD VS DCP. Or
what it's like to ABANDON RAMD.

Mr Poche... May I ask you the last time YOU were challenged to answer
a question that YOU were uncomfortable answering ABOUT drum and bugle
corps? How MANY times were you challenged? Did that make YOU feel
uncomfortable?

Did you FEEL that DCP was a more comfortable enviroment? For YOU?

It's a GIVEN...You've exposed that YOU are a DCP reader/poster.

Give THIS newsgroup the SAME respect.

So... YOU are banned too? And won't admit it? That's satisfactory to
me.

Here or there ?

I bash hopkins on both places. Other than that I do most of my chit
chat here.

It's more fun to bash hopkins there because thats where all the
Hopkins Bourgs went. They could not take it here and left. George
Dixon was the ringleader. I even posted "georgie the pissed off
poster" that I did for RAMD on DCP just to get censored, then I posted
it again and put spaces between the letters and it took Mike D several
days to find it amnd censor it.

No, too many front of the bus types that have no idea what touring
with a REAL drum & bugle corps was like BACK IN THE DAY.

> It's a GIVEN...You've exposed that YOU are a DCP reader/poster.

And so fucking what ? heck I might even have the double secret key to
the special RAMD room where we wear dalmation kilts and sacrafice
saxophones at the alter.

I give THIS newgroup MORE respect, but sice you don't go there, how
would you actually know and why would you demand something of me that
you have no benchmark to judge against ?
