You never hear about this corps.
How'd they do that year?
I understand that sometimes the Scouts have a problem with GE and getting the
crowd behind them...

We're certainly hearing about Jim Elvord, "Mr. Madison Scouts" (even though we can't
seem to get commentary on his leaving the corps for the Cavaliers... 'spose we've got
enough gods of all time in the Cavalier organization taking credit for what decades
of members achieved).

Jon Shrack was the drill designer and an instructor for the original
Memphis Blues Drum Corps. He is now Vice-Chairman for the Memphis
Performing Arts Association, one of the key supporters of the new
Memphis Sound Drum Corps.

The old Memphis Blues guys will remember... "Bam!..You're there."
The entire first season's practice field was the parking lot behind
what is now trendy Beale Street in Memphis. At the time just
delapidated buildings and winos. Anybody remember the heat wave of
1980?

Some people will never know what it means to ANYONE or EVERYONE or
anyone and everyone at all... They're too wrapped up in themselves.
Sad. Isn't it?

Damn...what a year that was for Scouts. One of the finest shows ever
produced.
