there are no doubt many more. please add to list- i'm little short on
more current names. what i know about the above is that all believed in
the roll by the mile. no roll was an invite to "what other instrument
would you like to play?".

My vote goes to the little gizmo you stick on the car-battery
terminals....the one with the steel brush inside that you rotate this
way and that to clean of the terminals.

Worked my snares in a corps I wrote and taught for in the mid-late 70's.
Not only a great drummer, but he had the best classical music album
collection I ever saw. Ask him for a recording, and he'd ask you which
orchestra and which conductor you wanted. He had thousands of albums in
his basement.
He ALSO had a great collection of old comics, long before they became
true collectors items. Must be worth a HUGE fortune today. I believe he
did a thesis for grad school on the impact of comics on the war effort
during WWII.

Gee, Jake. How could you forget Mitch? You, bongo playing fool, Maynard G.
Krebs type, you.
Jim will always remain in my "book". One of the best, who has *worked* with
the best, in anyone's "book". 'Nuff said in my "book"...
Sidenote: Look out Rick B. Jim plans on attending DCA I&E in the next couple
of years, when he's ready and has the funds. If anyone can take the title,
he will. He's a monster on snare when focused...
Be afraid, be very afraid...

Glen Crosby, Scott Johnson, Tom Aungst (when he was a tech)
Marty Hurley (and his brother Jimmy, too, for that matter)
Glen Crosby - great job with the Cadet lines back in the mid-late 80's, and
the California lines in the 90's
Jim Dugan - great work with Bush and Bluecoats, and now the Hurcs. Good
overall show guy, too.
Bobby Craig - lots of lines here on the east coast benefited from Bobby's
expertise.
Ted Nicholeris - a true drum corps lunatic - but he could definitely get the
job done.
... and so many others. Jeez, there've been a lot of great ones over the years
- hats off to them all!
regards,
Fred O.
Now that was funny.
