Don Imus (of "Imus in the Morning") played a bugle in a USMC base drum and
bugle corps back in the 1950s. His one time "traffic girl" Eileen
Marchaise-Cohen was in the color guard of the Garfield Cadets, late 1970s.
Billy Cobham, percussion clinician was in the St Catherines Queensmen and Long
Island Sunrisers, early 1960s. Jim Centorino a LA PBS personality was a
soloist for the Boston Crusaders & RI Matadors. John Ratzenberger "Cliff the
Mailman" on the old "Cheers" show was a rudimental bass drummer in the
Connecticut Royal Lancers, early 1960s. The actor who played "The Rifleman" on
the old 1950s TV series was a baritone bugle for the OLPH Ridgemen. Anyone
else?

Yes, and when it surfaced once last year, I said someone should keep a
list every time it re-surfaced. Then I got yelled at for 'ripping' the
person who posted it. An 'excuse me!' type message.

Not trying to rip at all - as I don't read the newsgroup detail by
detail year round. But it sure would save time each time it comes up
again! :)

Didn't Cliff from Cheers play bass drum somewhere?
Was someone from Bare Naked Ladies in d.c.?

...funny how things line up. If you watched the World Series two years ago,
Chuck played the National Anthem at one of the games. Later in the broadcast
the camera panned George Steinbrenner's (sp?) box and Chuck was up there...with
