otherwise (sorry, but the more recent shows, especially 95 for some reason,
really stick in my mind...)
Snare: Cavies 95
Bass: Glassmen 95
Tenors: BD 95
I guess I just really liked the shows that year

Spirit 80; Bridgemen 80; Oakland Crusaders 76;

Suncoast 85(?); SCV almost any year they have a feature.
> Tenor Solo:
Blue Devils 94,95: Guardsmen 79; Bridgemen 81

Snare: SCV 90, Regiment 93 (really the only snare solos I can think of) or
Cadets 93 (but not from an execution standpoint)
Bass: Cadets 95
Quads: QB 93, 94, 95 and (94 being the coolest)
Crossmen seem to be more of full ensemble drumline to me, rather than
individual breaks.

Snares:
90 Vanguard
(1st to use flam-5's I think)
92 Madison
94 BD (fiberglass=GE)
Basses:
95 Glassmen
93 SCV
tbr
p.s. I love these posts.
Snares:
90 Vanguard
(1st to use flam-5's I think) (really? i thought that rudiment has been
around longer?)
92 Madison
94 BD (fiberglass=GE)
Basses:
95 Glassmen <-- Wow , good to see someone recognizes a good bass
line(check out the 96 solo
(they played flam drags and flam 5's all
split-they even distributed the grace notes
(around. Watch the video if you can , watch 4 and
5 play LARS at the bottom)
93 SCV (they're awesome too.)
Best tenors: '77 Oakland Crusaders, many Blue Devils, '80-'82 Bridgemen,
late model Phantom and Cavies
Basses: Many good choices here, but SCV probably has most throughout
DCI history
tenor breaks: BD 95(closer), BD 96(2nd song), Cavies 96(closer), Madison
95, Phantom 94
bass breaks: Glassmen 95&96

'96 Crossmen tenors
Tenors- 90 BD, 7 tenors 2nd song. Not difficult, but very clean for 7 guys
and it was a GREAT sound quality.
Cadets of BC get one for 93. Not tickless but they sure were on the move
playing those sweeps with the crossovers, a definate breakthrough in tenor
drumming.
Best tenor line ever has to go to the 96 Devils. In my opinion, those 4
guys should reside on Mt. Olympus. Incredible stick heights and incredible
sound quality!
Snares-92 Madison gets my cleanliness award. But SCV 90 had the musical
snare solo I've heard in a while.
Best snare line ever, Star 93. Not many can realize it, but they were
probably one of the most versitile snare lines ever.
Basses- there are a bunch! 90 BD during the second song. Its just them
ramming some runs while the sopranos plays the melody. Same with 93 SCV,
one hilacious bass run all by themselves with some horns playing. 93 Star
is probabably the best technical Bass line I've ever heard though. The
split rolls are so even you could think one guy was playing a Huge set of
tenors!
Coolest drum feature- 92 Crossmen
cleanest drum feature- 91 Cavies (hard decision)
best drumline ever- 96 Devils
My opinions may vary from yours, but these are mine. There isn't enough
room to be able to list every solo or lick or feature from every year that
I love because I am a fan and There isn't much that I don't like.
