The Five Stages of Grief - for Drum Corps Fans

1. Denial - "Drum Corps is still the State of the Art!"

2. Anger - "Where did all of this bando crap suddenly come from?"

3. Bargaining - "A few more innovations should restore drum corps to
greatness ..."

4. Depression [pending] - "We sure screwed up drum corps."

5. Grief [pending] - "Boy I miss drum corps. I wonder what we could
do to bring it back?"

*Sigh* - There was even the MCA mini corp championship a weekend ago in
Albany with many of the mini corps from DCA perfoming and there wasn't even
a mention on here.... RAMD started out like a great drum corps party where
everyone was here...Now, it's like it's 4:30am and there's only a couple of
drunks left over in the corner still arguing about politics. The only
reason I still check out RAMD occasionally is that at the office, it is
*snoop* free by the IT department , as opposed to any web site, but it's
starting to get to where it's not even worth that anymore....

Sorry Stu - Meant to add "thanks for at least keeping it drumcorps..."

Maybe you should start your subjects with OT now, so we know it's drum
corps...

P.S. I shared with the group everything that I did and saw in drum
corps this year. On the other hand, what is happening in this country
right now is infinitely more important than what is going on with drum
corps in the off season. Sorry. But there's certainly nothing stopping
you from telling us about the mini corps.

I wish DCI demonstrated as much panic about its problems as the
government does these days (and vice-versa).

It means you aren't drinking your Kool-Aid as prescribed.

Yes it is, but there is a place/places for it - so take it there. It's
like pissing in your kitchen sink. Sure, it ends up going down to the same
place, but there's a place for that. Your above statement suggests that it
doesn't matter - when you gotta go, you gotta go, and it's "infinitely more
important" than making it to the bathroom, so screw the poor guy actually
trying to eat his dinner at the table while you relieve yourself.

A few days after 9/11 and the endless bombardment of media and talk, it was
nice to find solace in turning on Comedy Central to forget the world and
depression for just a short time. (Many episodes of Who's Line) Why can't
this forum be a escape from that?...Why does it have to get turned into
something it's not meant to be?

I guess I'm done with it then. If Comedy Central had put on a simulcast of
CNN at that time, I would have turned it off. I guess it's time to do the
same with RAMD. I've been reading and occasionally posting here since
1996, (back in the time it was ok to put your real name and corp
affiliations) never giving up on it, but if this is what the majority of
RAMD users want to discuss, then it's time to turn it off....Majority rules
and they can turn this forum into whatever they want.

Sis,

In the last 5 months it looks as though he has a total of 8 posts. Of
those 8, I see only 2 that had anything to do with Drum Corps. What is
that old line about those who live in glass houses and stone throwing??

And about something you peoples can't control so why dwell on it -
history has already been written and all this political bitching on a
DRUM CORPS site is for naught...

Rich,

All I was trying to say in my post is that he protestith a little
too much. I might have taken him more seriously if he practiced what he
preached. He bitched about all the non-Drum Corps posts here lately.
But, if you look back over his posts for the last 6 months, which were
not very many, at least 75% of them had nothing to do with DC. He went
through the entire season and only had 2 posts that had anything at all
to do with DC.

You left off a few steps.

6. Particpation - "If I'm a part of the problem, perhaps I have a voice
in fixing it"

7. Investing - "My voice isn't loud enough, perhaps my $upport is louder."

8. Realization - "None of the above made any difference. Take my toys
and go home. Focus on career and otherwise find other outlets to
associate with life."

9. Irony - "Being asked to leave drumcorps AFTER you already have."
