hehe, you are talking about jenny (Generoll!!) that was a cool show..i was
only in 8th grade though so i missed it by a year!
First, going back aways:
1) The end of Quasar 1983...can we say the use of color way ahead of
it's time?
2) The beginning of Skylarks space show...the parachute was way too
cool.
3) Cavaliers 1983...talk about several snapshots there
4) Those crazy Antron rifle exchanges
5) The all flag feature at the end of Sac's show, 1989.
(For all you color guard youngsters, grab some old tapes and learn
your guard history.)
And the present for a few that haven't been mentioned:
1) Emerald Marquis, 1991..."I put this moment here".
2) Emerald Marquis, 1994...as they introduce the flags and the
gradations go from pink to dark purple.
3) Sonnor, 1991...Kate Bush is wailing, the dyamics of the flag work
build intensity into an incredible climax. (yes, it was almost like
sex.)
4) Emerald Marquis 1992...the final yellow flag work with break neck
drill, resolving into a single line
5) Tate 1991...the disco show. The flag block rotates around in a
small block as the weapons line weaves its way through while the disco
diva is just screaming.
6) McGavock 1996 (? I Can See Clearly Now)...blue/gray flags to
yellow in an instant.
7) Bucanneers 1999...the flag feature from the silk at the
end...sculpting, into the ground while all the time holding on to the
silk
8) Palm Desert 1998...sabre double time while doing the pony, head
gestures and into a toss. Go girls!
9) Any San Marino body roll that defied gravity and basic physics.
10) Forte 1996 (Here's to Life)....They start in the upper left
corner and in 15 seconds or so, give you the whole life cycle of
modern man. Also in that show, the history of color guard in 15
seconds. Love it.
Well, there's a few. Enjoy!

Wonderful show. A show that pretty much changed colorguard, truly innovative.

Also an incredible show, and my personal all-time favorite. They used Kronos'
Amazing Grace, I remember seeing that drill at the Norristown Regional and they
didn't quite have it down yet -- they were bumping into each other, which is
understandable when you see that drill. At Dayton it was phenomenal.

That was a great moment, incredibly well thought-out. What ever happened to
that guard, anyway? The next year they did the homeless show with the cool
equipment -- eight actual weapons, the rest were all precision-weighted well,
THINGS. A giant sword, a piece of pipe... but when they did that six, they all
rotated exactly the same.
Thanks for the great post, brought back some good memories!
Hey you are the first person to mention the Academy (well besides me). Those
rools were definately hard to learn, and make look good. Thanks for the
appreciation. I am glad some people enjoyed the weird stuff we did =)

That was without a doubt one of the most outstanding guards I had the
pleasure of working with. A rare moment in color guard. It is always a kick
to see guards today doing some of the old stuff that we took flak for
introducing to guard YEARS ago.........like 77-79.....
I enjoy and respect the new age of colorguard, but those moments with
Bux-Mont just ROCKED.
