Does anyone remember the Parsippany Patriots. They were a guard from
north jersey. They competed in the Liberty Color Guard Circuit. Along
with Metro and the Early W.G.I.

I marched their last year, then went to Conquest, another guard from
NJ. Anybody else remember them?

Parsippany Patriots! of course we do. They wore those white shakos and
purple unis?
I rememeber one of their show was very military and well done. Very
good guard in that time.
Of course, that is when guard was colorguard, they way it should be -

I taught the Parsipanny Patriots. First guard to do 6's with sabres. Very
talented. Their main instructors were Judy and Gary Brown. The purple team were
the Memorial Cadets. They were also very cool.

Mickey,
Terry always talks about you when she brings up guard. Keeping
guard going is one of her passions. She says thanks for remembering.

Hey Vikki

Thanks. I was really proud of them especially in championships.

Is this the same Mickey Kelly who taught the Skylarks? I marched with an
independant guard from NY taught by Joe Mason and his daughter. I believe it
was the early 70's. Those were the days of Skylarks, Royal Guardsman and
Conquest , when colorguard was truly colorguard. That is what I grew up on.
My guard (Blessed Sacrament Squires) competed against the Parsipanny Patriots
when I was co-captain in 1986 (could be off a year or two). It was quite a
season!

I teach now and always try to keep the values of the instructors I was in awe
of back then. Yourself included.

Michelle

PS - For anyone else reading this who competed in the MAA circuit during those
wonderful years, you know that Randy was God and "Go for it!" was the phrase!

HEY!

Yes, I'm the guilty one who taught Skylarks. Joe Mason was a great guy and I
always respected him. Good to see some "oldies" on line.

OMG! Mickey! I thought it might be the same one but I wasn't sure! You're
gonna laugh at this one. I have Skylarks on tape from I thin 82? The space
show.... my guard watched it a few times and loved it! They cant believe us
"old people" did that stuff! LOL......
