good condition and could be used several more years. Please email me if
you
have any good suggestions. What has your bands done with your old
uniforms?
Also, we had a problem with a very large student this year, yet had no
pants even close to fitting. We actually took two pairs of OLD uniform
pants (we had keep a few in case) and used them to make one extra large
pants. For the jacket we had to use pieces of one of the new jackets
and make inserts. So if your new uniform jackets or pants are even
close in color or style, you may want to keep a few.
A couple of years ago, a very generous donation allowed the Homestead
High School Marching Band (in California) to buy all new uniforms. Our
old uniforms were stlll in good condition but the catch was that they
were Green and White and had Homestead written down the back. A parent
did some reseach on the Internet and found Homestead Middle School in
Florida whose colors were also green and white. The school had also just
recently started a marching program but funds for uniforms were limited
for reasons including that the area had just recently been hit by a
severe hurricane. With a few other donations (such as shipping), our old
uniforms were sent to Homestead, Florida. It's amazing how many people
that original donation has helped and both bands on both coasts are very
grateful.
