I'm thinking of making a printed, bound copy of version 2.0 of the
Inform 7 Handbook available (probably through lulu.com).

Question:

If you think you might buy a copy, would you prefer coil-bound (lies
flat for easy reference while typing) or perfect-bound (less likely to
have the pages rip loose when you stuff it in a backpack)?

This will probably be a 6x9-inch book, and will be somewhere around 300
pages.

Thanks for the feedback.

Lulu makes it very easy to offer multiple formats; there's no
difference in cost to you and I'm sure, as a group, we're tough enough
to handle the tyranny of choice.

So I vote stuffing-or-mashed-potatoes on this one: both, please :)

That's a good point, which I hadn't considered. Thanks.

There are other factors, though. If it's perfect-bound, I can get an
ISBN, which means it can be sold on sites like Amazon. Coil-bound books
can't get an ISBN -- at least, not from Lulu. So by creating two
versions, I would be creating some potential for confusion and
bureaucratic snafus.

I'm still researching this, so maybe I'll be able to finesse the ISBN
issue, if it is indeed an issue.

I'd be incredibly tempted to buy a copy, and would prefer coil-bound.

Make mine perfect bound if you please.

Perfect bound for me! Loving the PDF version, BTW. Thanks for such a
great reference!
