IF for teaching languages

Anyone using IF for teaching languages? I have written beginner level
Choose Your Own Adventure stories but I prefer having to actually type
in the new words in the language I'm studying. I'm trying to think
through the pros and cons of text adventure vs CYOA vs straight
stories for beginner level students.

You could contact Graham Nelson about porting Inform 7 to new target
languages. Inform is an IF design system with a natural language
parser (you could further port the parser to new target languages if
interested). You'd need to port the standard rules to understand
things like definite and indefinite articles, pronouns, etc in the
target language.

It has full unicode support, so any language is a possible candidate.

There was something on Emily Short's blog (emshort.wordpress.com)
about a year ago about Greek vowels. You might check in to see if
she's done anything more -- she doesn't post here because of the
troll.
