Haven't seen the post myself cannot find it on my isp, but looking at
their website I see no announcement.
Regards,
Shard.
And considering the fact that it was updated as recently as Jan 12,
2004, I have to think it's still going.

My inference is that the web site is still active, and the XYZZY awards
are still a going concern, but the zine itself is, if not dead, at least
in long-term hibernation.
This is not inside info, though the zine's dormancy is pretty
self-evident on the face of it. The real dope on this question would have
to come from Neil or Eileen.

SPAG 35, the annual comp issue, is here! Let the bedlam begin! Find its
news, reviews, and more at http://www.sparkynet.com/spag.
The XYZZY Awards are definitely underway to celebrate the games of
2003, as you may see from my separate announcement on r.a.i-f today.
(Or just shimmy over to http://www.xyzzynews.com/2003nominees.html to
see for yourself).
A while back I decided -- belatedly realized, really -- that I didn't
have the bandwidth to continue publishing regular issues of XYZZYnews
in the regular newsletter format. I started XYZZYnews in 1995, after
all! But 2003 was especially tough for me on a personal front. I had a
miscarriage and lost my mother, both within just a few months.
XYZZYnews was just one of many interests that fell by the wayside. I
have a very crowded wayside, actually. But life goes on. I know that
many of you are also pairing off, having kids, changing jobs, writing
books, buying houses, starting over... having time to play text
adventures, much less read Usenet or chat on the MUD, somehow becomes
less of a priority...
But I will and do post articles, game reviews, and other cool IF
tidbits that come my way; my in-box and XYZZYnews home page are always
open.
Some 98% of what happens with the XYZZY Awards is thanks to the kind
efforts of a few IF-loving volunteers -- if you'd love to see more
happen with XYZZYnews on a regular basis, please just get in touch
with me... and you can take it from there!
All the best,
Eileen
