"The William Castle Film Collection" - Sony screws up

Amazon.com review: I was so excited - like most of Castle's
fans - to find out that a boxed collection was coming.
Thoughts of FINALLY owning "Macabre," "The Night Walker,"
and "Let's Kill Uncle" had my heart racing with excitment.
Then I saw the titles. WTF!! How dare Sony betray fans this
way!! Guess I'll continue to hunt the late night cable
movie listings in hopes of seeing those 3 gems again.
Thanks for nothing, SONY!!

Sony owns none of these films. MACABRE was released by Allied
Artists; THE NIGHT WALKER and LET'S KILL UNCLE were Universal releases.

I would LOVE a good copy of The Night Walker. All I have is a shitty
VCD copy off TV. It's my second fav Castle film after The Tingler.

I recently watched five from the 1940s The Whistler series, and Castle
directed a few of those. His crew - esp his DPs - were really good on
these little 61 minute Bs. They look great and the stories have a pop
mythic undercurrent to them, which reminded me of the RKO Lewton
series from roughly the same period.

I also recently saw 1993's Matinee (dir: Joe Dante), in which John
Goodman plays a Wm Castle figure. Sweet little film, evocative of that
time and place (Cuban missle crisis, Key West, teenagers trying to
make their way through that madness).
