I'm trying to find out more about this artist and figure out a value
for the paintings I have. I only bought the paintings about a year ago
and they had been "stored" rolled up in the corner of an old shed,
thick with dust. The previous owner passed away and his kids talked
his widow into letting them sell everything at a flea market. They
obviously didn't have any idea of the value of the paintings, nor did
I, until I bought them home and found out what watercolors by the
Japanese artist S. Tosuke had sold for. If the paintings have some
value, I would like to get them insured, along with an S. Tosuke
watercolor.

I'm not certain if I have my account settings right, but I've uploaded
pictures of the M. D. Sharma watercolors to Flickr and some of them
can be seen here:

On the back of most of the M. D. Sharma paintings is a rubber stamp
stating the name and address of the artist in BomBay-2 . I don't know
what the -2 is all about, but I tried to find it on Google and
Mapquest, even changing the city to Mumbai. Never did find it, but
some streets sounded close enough. Maybe they changed since the
paintings?

As for the S. Tosuke watercolor, I don't really know the "current"
value, since the last two auction closing prices I saw for his
paintings were $990 US in 2005 and $1100 US in 2006. Both at private
auction houses in the U.S.A.
Here's a link to the picture I put on Flickr of mine:

Sorry about the diagonal shadow across the picture, but it was taken
outside on a partly cloudy day and the sun decided to come out at an
inopportune time.

Thanks in advance for any information, or help in evaluating these
paintings.

So I messed up. I didn't realize that you might have to be signed up
with Yahoo in order to use those links. I've just uploaded the
pictures to another site and you should be able to see the pictures
here:
