There might be such programs but you should never use them because no
two pigments of the same name but different manufacturers will look
the same, especially the natural ones. There are ofcourse those
machines that mix housepaint automatically but they only work for the
ingredients used by those machines.
Furthermore : aside from the pigments, the oil and medium have effect
on the color as well.
i guess i was interested in something that might create an
"Approximazation" of a color. not in a "true" sense, as quality of
paint/pigment would obviously be a factor, but instead to give a vague
computer mediated simulation to give insite into creating more
"complex" color variants.... this being a software generated mixing
model for color. yes... a house paint mixing software prog might work
in this instance i believe...as long as artists can translate mixes
into oil or acrylic pigments/brands/qualities using personal
interpretations...
