Any opinion on the book by Robert Hughes, and I guess TV program
concerning the history of American Art.

Dunno what the book is like: my copy hasn't arrived yet (I do know
that writing it almost literally killed him).

The TV series, which I've watched through a couple of times now,
is great. The historically most interesting bits are in the first
half, but the last episode or two, when Jeff Koons and others
get on screen, are the funniest (or at least I thought so,
the friends I've watched it with often didn't get the jokes).

My only real criticisms are that he doesn't mention Raymond Lowey
by name, though he clearly appreciates his work, and that Lee Krasner
is sort of stuck into the background of the abstract expressionist
bits.
