I just bought from amazon.com two books:
Anatomy For The Artist
author: Sarah Simblet
photographer: John Davis
This book had mostly great reviews on amazon.com. The book may not
have absolutely everything it could have, but what does? The majority
seem to think it's the very best anatomy book for artists. So I
ordered it.
The Artist's complete guide to figure drawing: a contemporary
perspective on the classical tradition.
author: Anthony Ryder
This guy is a great artist. He draws & paints extremely realistically.
His book shows you his techniques. It seems like it's the best book on
drawing figures in a realistic way. This book is the exact opposite of
the one by Nicolaides. Sorry Mr. Tudball, but I want to draw like
Ryder, not Nicolaides.

I'm glad you found something stimulating to study from.

Someone very wise once said: "It's not what you've got, it's what you do
with it!" and I think this applies in the case of Nicolaides. He gives very
good drawing instruction but what you do with it once you get the hang of
it, is entirely up to you and your abilities.
Some of my very best instructors couldn't paint worth a darn, but they
taught me how to make the best of what I had to offer. Some time was spent
with Nicolaides' book and it was worthwhile.

and if you got nothing you can't do anything.

Well let's see it!
