Located at http://www.internetartfair.com, the Internet Art Fair is a new
Web site that achieves two goals: (1) to give artists and craftspeople a
legitimate opportunity to sell their work via the Internet and (2) to give
art and craft lovers a simple way to buy unique arts and crafts from across
the United States. The site has begun with the work of seven artists and
craftspeople, with more soon to come.
You might be asking, "How is the Internet Art Fair different than any other
art or craft site on the Internet?"
The Internet Art Fair is different for many reasons:
The Internet Art Fair brings an eclectic mix of pieces together in one
place. Our artists and craftspeople are from across the United States. If
you love going to outdoor art fairs or craft fairs (or participating in
them), you will love our site
because of the variety of different works available to see and purchase,
from inexpensive items to higher-priced works. And our site is not simply a
collection of links to individual artists' sites; it is a place you can go
with all of the artists under one roof. Each artist's booth has a similar
look and feel, so you can travel through the site comfortably without
losing track of where you've been or how to see somewhere new.
The Internet Art Fair is a sophisticated Web site built to make the
shopping experience easy. For example, the site utilizes Shopping Cart
software that tracks a visitor's purchases. Simply click on the "Add to
Cart"
button when you see a piece you'd like to own and it will be added to your
cart. When you're done shopping, click the "Go to Checkout" button to have
your purchases totaled (we'll even add correct sales tax if applicable).
Our site is also housed on a secure Web server, allowing you to purchase
items via credit card without worries about security. Our server utilizes
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) technology to encrypt credit card numbers sent
over the Internet. But, if you prefer not to use your credit card, you may
have your order form e-mailed to you (with your purchases printed on it).
You then send or fax your order in to the address on the form. This is
much different than most art or craft sites that force you to copy down
names and prices of items from one screen in order to fill out an order
form on another screen. Or sites that don't give any order form but
instead force you to contact the artist directly if you have an interest.
Sometimes contacting the artist is desirable, but many times you'd like to
be able to buy a piece with minimal effort. At the Internet Art Fair you
can.
So we invite you to visit the Internet Art Fair at
http://www.internetartfair.com and see for yourself what makes our site
different and, of course, to see the work of the talented artists and
craftspeople who are exhibiting their works there. With the holidays
coming up, a unique art or craft gift might be just the thing for that
not-so-easy-to-buy-for person on your list. Happy Browsing!
