The occasional odd plein air artist does wander through here (I do it myself
at times, and one has to be odd to paint outside in Nova Scotia) but there's
not much conversation w/r to the genre. But feel free to start up threads &
see what takes....You might want to try WetCanvas (
http://www.wetcanvas.com ); there are some good painters there, but it tends
to be run like a bit of a nanny state. The plein air artists post on the
landscape board, IIRC.

There is also a plein air forum. I haven't had time to check in there
lately, but last year, when I visited regularly, it was extremely
active - dozens of posts a day just in the plein air forum, as well as
equally active forums devoted specifically to portraiture, oil painting,
pastel, watercolor, etc.

Hi Marc,
I thought they had one as well, but it seems to have disappeared. Even Larry
Seiler is posting on the landscape forum. But if my eyes are playing tricks
on me (not good for painting outside) & there is one still, let me know...
Cheers;

Try this link Chris. It's still there but perhaps the
indexing on the site is screwed up.

I see what the problem is now. Under "Subjects" there
is a sub-forum "Painting from Life" and under that are
the "Plein Air" sub-sub-forums.

I suspect that most if not all landscape painters are working plein aire.
