FA FINE ART PRINTS/BOOKS

Here is a chance to own some quality fine art prints. Each print measures
approx. 31cm by 24cm and is stored in the front of a book about paintings
entitled "Metropolitan seminars in art" by John Canaday. Published by the
Metropolitan Museum of art in the USA. There are 12 portfolios in the this
set of lessons in a course of art study published around 1958 - 1960. John
Canaday was the art editor and critic of the New York Times. All the
portfolios bar one have been stored in protective wraps.
The majority of the prints have a bit of age browning to the white borders,
the prints themselves are lovely. They have all been stored in the pocket at
the front of the books. A few prints in some of the portfolios have a turned
down corner, please e-mail for precise details if you are particularly
interested in one portfolio and this is important to you, I would imagine
that once framed it would be hardly noticeable. Only one print out of all 12
portfolios is torn (The goya in number 11 has a one inch closed tear ). The
books themselves, except number 5 which was not stored in wraps, are in a
near fine condition.
Number 5 is still in very good condition, just not quite as good as the
rest.
They have obviously been well looked after by an art lover.
I have split the entire set into 12 separate lots as I feel that this gives
everyone a chance to buy some great prints at a very modest price, should
anyone be interested in purchasing the whole set then I would give an
overall 10% discount. The scanned in pictures give some idea of the quality
and do not necessarily relate to the contents of that particular portfolio.
Of course the scans can never do these prints complete justice. Framed up
these prints would make a brilliant Christmas present. There are at least 9
prints in each portfolio. What a bargain!
