I live in a northern Candian town and have
no axcess to a school or "art' teacher."

Do you have any advice on a good correspondence
school, or workshops offered through the mail or
over the "Net"?

Also do you know of any "news groups" that
apply mainly to water colour artist?

Thank you
Joan

I have never tried correspondence art course, but North Light Art School
advertises their course regularly in American Artist Magazine and other
art magazine publications. North Light publishes many art instructional
books and I would think they are very qualified.

North Light Art School is a good school of instruction. You have one
instructor all the way through, who critiques your work and shows you how
to improve. I used to teach for them and I know the school director,
Charlie Berger, who is a really dedicated teacher and artist. You can call
the school for an information packet at 800-283-0963. Where are you in
Canada? I just got back from teaching workshops in Vancouver, Mission (BC)
and Calgary (Alberta) and will be returning to Calgary and Mt. Robson next
summer for color workshops, and possibly to Winnipeg. Would you be
interested in hearing about such workshops in the future? I can tell the
sponsors to put you on the mailing list.

Please visit my web site for information on a critique service that offers
individual instruction and an in-depth, written analysis based on photos
of your artwork.

Our instructors are national submissions jurors associated with such
organizations as the National Sculpture Society, Pastel Society of
America, American Academy of Equine Art, etc.
