What is ArtSource?

ArtSource is a marketing and research analysis firm that specializes in
evaluations of works of art and identifies specific markets in which works
of
art can be sold.
The firm relies on the most current and up-to-date on-line marketing data
information available for all areas of the Fine Arts. Our reports are
detailed, carefully-formatted and written in laymen's terms.
ArtSource can also assist in the finding and identifying of specific works
of
art for clients wishing to purchase. Through our data systems, we can
highlight up-coming auctions and sales in which certain items may appear,
or
keep a client informed as to the market status of art they already own but
do
not wish to sell.
The firm also conducts Fine Art Appraisals for insurance purposes,
equitable distribution, personal valuations, and replacement cost
evaluation
.
ArtSource is not enagaged in the art brokerage business and does not
take a commission from the sale of any work of art wither from the client
or
any marketing source that may be identified. Charges for the service are
on
a flat-fee basis as outlined below with 50% to be paid in advance.

Market Inquiry (per item) $25.00
Market Identification Data Report $50.00

Jean C. Rothman, President of ArtSource holds a Master Degree in Art
History,
was formerly Research Assistant to the Curator at the Arkansas Arts
Center,
was formerly in the art brokerage and antique importing business, is an
Associate Member of the International Society of Appraisers, and a Member
of
the Appraisers' Association of America.

I'm interested your service. I have read your message and I have a few
questions. I think I understand that I can get information on current
selling prices but what ia a "market inquiry"? Can I get information as
to identifying works of art, artists and/or signitures? In searching for
particular types of artwork, what types of sources do you search other
than auction houses?
