I have inherited an old painting which family legend was said to have
come from a museum in PA. It may be entitled Horseshoe Curve. It
depicts a steam train crossing a long bridge with horseshoe shaped
arches over a body of water. The paint was applied directly on to the
glass and there is mother of pear inlay on the bridge and other areas.

The painting has suffered some degredation over the years, and I would
appreciate any information about the picture in general, as well as,
proper guidance towards preservation and perhaps restoration.
