WetCanvas Updates and Announcements
February 19, 1999
You have requested to receive this electronic announcement message from
the staff of WetCanvas, an online magazine designed by, and for,
artists. If you feel that this message has reached you in error, please
contact us at: announ...@wetcanvas.com.
NOTE: It appears that most of you did not receive our last weekly update
(on 2-12-99). We've incorporated it into this weekly update for your
benefit.
From the Editor:
New York City has long been called the "Art Capitol of the Western
Hemisphere". It's no surprise. In the district of Soho, the Big Apple's
most prominent art district, there is virtually a gallery in every
building. It's every artist's dream to exhibit in NYC - so we packed up
the digital camera and tape recorder, and caught the next flight out to
the concrete jungle. Stop by and read the full report! Also see our new
report on a neat little place, Buford, Georgia, the so-called "Soho of
the South!"
Until now, WetCanvas has relied on a "framed" environment to provide
content to visitors. Starting this week, we are doing away with this
approach, and standardizing on screen sizes that will enable ease of
viewing for low resolution and Web-TV users. If you see some dust,
chances are we are actively working on that section. Thanks for your
patience whilst we construct!
As usual, tons of new additions this week, and ten times as much in the
proverbial inbox. Until next time, keep those submissions coming, keep
your carpet covered with a .79 cent drop cloth, and happy painting!
Cheers!
Scott

WetCanvas! is as an online magazine and information repository geared
toward artists of all major mediums (oils, acrylics, watercolors, etc.)
We are looking for additional contributing editors and writers for our
how-to tutorial section, studio tips, and product review sections. If
you are an artist, and would like to share your knowledge and experience
with others, see the contact information below.
We are also seeking, and interested in developing, relationships with
publishing companies, magazines, writers and other content providers. In
addition to the high exposure, we are able to provide cross-promotions
and various Internet related services in several combined packages.
We are also interested in working with artists to fill our virtual
gallery space. This service is free of charge to any artist wishing to
display their works in an online format.
