If you want my opinion on the work keep reading, otherwise just close this

====================
my biased opinion follows:
Your work is very nice. Of course technique is critical when doing work so
minimal, as you know, thus still life with bread and egg looks via thumbnail
to have some weak parts, the egg or shadows on bread and cast from both.
The wine glass and chestnut are terrific! (again those frames kill them
both.) The larger still life is incredible because it seems you not only
captured the objects, you made a distinctly more complex painting, and you
handled the space of objects to each other and objects and table to the
entire area of the painting much better than the small single object
paintings. By this I mean (and I hate to use such unqualified language but
hopefully you'll get the idea) the painting breathes more, the objects look
less cramped, the amount of 'background' around the objects is larger and
this allows the whole painting to become more of a complete entity than
appearing like a slice of a still-life. Rembrandt was a pro at
incorporating a good deal of space around his portraits in particular. I
would like to see a body of works like the table still life painting. And
witty to put the slatted chair in the foreground like a contemporary
vermeer. Lastly if you're interested there are a couple of artists at the
Sherry French Gallery in NYC who do works like your single object paintings,
to name just one example -- I've seen a good deal of this sort of painting.
I've seen much less of the types of larger still life. Again, kill those
ugly frames around the works !!!
