I consider myself to be alive and well. And pointillism was a very minor
part of post impressionism. In fact I don't really consider it in essence
post impressionist. The critics of the time, 3 years after the term
"impressionism" was coined proclaimed impressionism overtaken by pointillism.
It's all a lot of nonsense. Any way Gauguin who was a post impressionist of
the highest order in my opinion, called Seurat 'that maker of dots'. It
wasn't meant as a compliment, I don't think.
