I was looking at Da Vinci's The Last Supper, trying to scope out the
anomalies mentioned in Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code, when I happened
upon a curious symbol. What I'm about to reveal has never been
documented before as far as I know. Once I show you this symbol, you
will never see this painting the same way again. No, it's not a dagger
or Mary Magdalene. It's not obvious until you are told it's there, and
then you will never ever miss it again.

Given that The Last Supper has been in a state of almost constant
conservation since nearly before the paint was dry, I would not be
surprised to find a portait of Jack Benny taking tea with the Queen
Mum hidden in the shadeing of the tablecloth.
In fact I am quite certain that "Pope Julian II was a fink" is
written in latin in the upper left corner of the room, and
"Michealangelo is Gay" is in the upper right.

It's no secret that Leonardo had an alterior motive for some of his
works commissioned by the Vatican. I'm convinced art enthusiasts the
world over would be appalled if the professional 22-year restoration of
The Last Supper were modified or deviated from the original in any
significant way. In fact, a major part of the restoration included the
removal of cover-ups applied to the painting over the years.

I would be surprised to find anything in the painting related to Jack
Benny, the Queen Mum, finks, or Michelangelo Buonarroti's sexual
preference. What I do propose is that the cup of Christ, one of the
most significant aspects to the story of Christ's last supper, has not
been found in the painting until now. My web site,
www.realmoftwelve.net, goes to great lengths to professionally show how
nuances are hidden in art through the ages for perhaps no greater
reason than it's fun to do and thrilling to discover.

I must admit I didn`t notice the symbol as any kind of drinking vessel;
does anyone else here?

to me it seems like part of an art deco design - i have seen 1950's 60's
geometrical style paintings of a similar design.

"Every now and then go away, have a little relaxation, for when you
come back to your work your judgment will be surer. Go some distance
away because then the work appears smaller and more of it can be taken
in at a glance and a lack of harmony and proportion is more readily
seen." - Leonardo da Vinci

i agree - people are looking too closely at the painting - they should stand
at a far distance to absorb the rhythmic movement of one's eyes over the
entire artistic composition and not just the details.
