By reading past discussions on Bougereau here, I hesitate to even
mention his name. However, I've had an old print in my possession for
at least 20 years and I think I acquired it at some antique show or
flea market. I don't even remember. The one I have is "Yvonne", and
she's always had a prominent place in our home. I've loved her
mesmerizing eyes. The print we have is so old and faded it's mostly
green. Today I decided to find out more about the artist and to see
what the original actually looked like.

shows "Yvonne".

My question is, how would a person go about finding out where a
particular piece of art is right now? I've been searching online with
various search engines and keywords, and although I've found a lot of
Bougereau's art in museums worldwide, I can't find Yvonne. I thought
if she was in a museum in the U.S., if I'm ever near it I'd like to go
there. My guess is she's in a private collection somewhere, but how
do you find that out?

Get in touch with the Art Renewal people - http://artrenewal.org . They are
probably your best on-line resource for Academic and Classical Realist
styles - particularly the late 19th Century.
