Thanks!

There are some. Try searching on "craft" then
asking around in the craft groups you come
up with for specific information. I recall
seeing a "metal painting" referrence but not
a "tole painting" one.

Behold the online resource:
They do not have decorative painting as a seperate entry, but if you
look under decorative you'll get the idea. Roughly it's painting
stuff to look cool. From stenciling a design on your mom's kitchen
cupboards to painting rocks to look like turtles to painting a fine
Grecian pattern in several delicate glazes on a ceramic urn. The
divideing line between decorative art and fine art is a bone of
contention for many people.
tole - Decorative painting on tin objects, traditional in several
cultures, including American. Toleware is tinware. Although similar
painting is also done on wooden, glass, and plastic objects, it is
more appropriate to describe such work simply decorative painting.
Tole is typically a folk craft, with images derived from pattern
books. Most tole is done with oil paints, but some is also done with
acrylic paints. There are brushes designed specifically for tole, but
round and flat red sable brushes of many types are generally
recommended. Also see double loading, folk art, and ware.
