Who are yours?
Tosh
Harness
Ianto
Gwen
Owen
Actually, I despise Owen, and I'm glad he died.

JWH
Owen
Jack
Gwen
Hated Ianto
Is there some point to this?
To create general discussion amongst those who care I guess. I could of
course raise the question of what the point of talking about Yads is ( or
indeed what the point of Yads is at all! )...
Can`t say I ever liked any of the Torchwood characters much personally,
always found them quite devoid of much characterisation....although there
are things I`d like to do to Gwen of course.
Arsebird
Pilotbird
Captain Jack (because I can't think of any other birds in it I fancy and
Welshbird looks like a gerbil)
I don't think it's intended to be a list of people you fancy Aggy, but
it's good you're finally admitting your feelings for Barrowman.
And Eve Myles is hot IMHO.
I prefer Eve MYles's gutsy character.

Owen - Dead
Tosh - Dead
Ianto - Dead
Harkness can't be killed off (although he could be ditched in a Black
Hole) - so I can only hope that the series is also Dead.
But you fancy Jack???????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Harkness *is* The Face of Bo, and he dies in a David Tennant "Doctor
Who" episode. Can't remember if it was in Series (Season) 3 or 4.

This would explain why he watches every programme Barrowman is on.
Not a spoiler. It was only speculation and even RTD was non-committal
about it in an interview.

Stargate Universe SGU: It puts the "U" in "SUCKS"!
It's the show 'Defiling Gravity' would be if DG had more regulars,
fewer abortions, worse writers, and no budget for lighting.
Remember, you can't spell "disgust" without SGU!
:-?
...about whether it was true that Capt. Jack Harkness truly *is/was* The
Face of Bo, or whether Capt. Jack Harkness/The Face of Bo *died* in that
episode, or both? I thought it was pretty much stated in the episode
that Harkness was The Face of Bo, i.e. a fact, not speculation.
Re. the spoiler warning, I was just trying to err on the safe side. ;-)
Yes.
RTD has said it was a throwaway line added quite late and he`s not sure in
his own mind whether it`s to be taken to be truth or not.
So, basically they don't know what they're writing and they could change
their minds any time to retcon whatever they want. Sounds like monkeys
in a room banging on keyboards. Man, I'm glad he's gone from Doctor
Who.
A big thing? From what I remember it was just a tagged on final scene played
for laughs. A man says to the Doctor and Martha - "oh I remember Jack...or
the Face of Boe as we used to call him"...and then the Doctor and Rose look
at each other and say "No - it couldn`t be - could it?!". Just a jokey
scene....it certainly wasn`t a big deal. RTD said this scene didn`t mean
Jack actually *was* the Face of Boe but that he could be if future writers
decided to go down that path.
Why would you hope that? If it does return you do realise you don't *have*
to watch it?
No, but you are a troll.
He's only pointing out what *you* said!
I liked the Blowfish, 'cos he drove a sports car.
--
Enzo
I wear the cheese. It does not wear me.
No, it means they have a sense of humour. The Boe line was just a bit of
fun, and leaving it open is not a "retcon".
For FUCK'S SAKE! Some fans! LOL!
It was NOT a "big thing". It was a lightweight epilogue to a story.
John, you're talking to a guy who's hated Doctor Who since 1966 and he
still watches it! :-)
So why did you include Jack on your fanciable list? Methinks the Ag doth
protest too much.
I would need Cast Iron assurances that it will Never again return to
pollute DW.
I've enjoyed the majority of New Who (although the prospect of Smith
as Baby-Doc fills me with dread).
What he said!!!
If I had the episode I'd look (I don't because I saw it via Netflix
DVDs.), but it didn't seem like a jokey scene to me. It was a
revelation, not a joke. Anybody remember which episode it was?
IF RTD knows if he is coming or going.
If it's standards are as high as they were for Children of Earth, bring
it on!
Just lie back and think of Karen Gillan's legs.
RTD being the man who brought it back and made it incredibly popular?
HArkness needs his morals checked.
IF a troll? REally? Nah! Wilson, smith and Sailsbury OTOH ...
It was a small, lighthearted scene. Why are you so fixated by it?
TRoll on in john smith.
TRoll Mike Henry I see Zarbitroll.
I'm not fixated by it. When I saw the episode, it didn't strike me as a
joke, but as a bit of revealed truth that seemed to "fit." Now. it's
like RTD's saying "Oh, we didn't mean it. ...maybe, ...or maybe we did.
Well, we just don't know."
That's right. So?
Now it all atheist can depart the UK for the US!
Stuff like the following...
"RTD has said it was a throwaway line added quite late and he`s
not sure in his own mind whether it`s to be taken to be truth
or not. "
....makes a show not worth watching, not worth taking seriously at all.
If the captain of the ship (show) is letting stuff into the show that
he's not sure is true or not, it implies a certain laxness and lack of
caring about which way the show goes, like they're just all making up
any old crap as they go along and nothing matters because they can
always change their minds.
Yep. That's serial fiction for you. But instead of obsessing over one
tiny lighthearted scene (in which, I must add, it was never DEFINITELY
proven Jack was Boe) why not consider whether you enjoyed the other 99%
of the episode?
1. I'd like to go back and rewatch that episode, if only I knew which
one it was. Anybody remember which episode it's in? Anybody??
2. Part of why I enjoyed the episode was _because_ of that revelation.
It was one of those (to use an Americanism) "I coulda had a V8." ad.
headslap moments (where "V8" refers to the vegetable drink, not an
engine configuration.).
3. It's hard to imagine it being a lighthearted scene when it revolves
around the actual *death* of The Face of Boe.
It didn't! The death of Boe was in a completely different episode
(Gridlock), and later became crucial to a scene in the episode Utopia
(the YANA explanation). Jack's revelation came at the end of "Last of
the Time Lords", after the danger was over and they were saying their
goodbyes. Therefore a lighthearted scene!

Thats how I interpreted it as well.

Put your feet up - have a nice cup of Earl Grey - and see what the

Ever heard of the word "amibiguity"? Jesus, some "Doctor Who" fans are so
autistically literal, aren't they? ;-)

Newman and Lambert made it incredibly popular thank you very much.
Davies merely revived it.
Would you like to be "merely revived" if you collapsed in a town centre of a
heart attack? I know I wouldn't be so churlish as to refuse resuscitation -
always assuming it was on hand...
Yeah! That's you all over, Iggy! Churlish to the core! (I've decided to
make it my "Word of the Week".) Suppose you won't be watching "Waters of
Mars" this Sunday then, eh? ;-)
You are source of running up IF's blood pressure.
I consider it churlish Not to give credit where it's due. Would you
credit Rick Berman or JJ Abrams with the success of Star Trek? Doctor
Who became a National Icon in 1963, not 2005.
As for Waters; you can wait in keen anticipation of my review.
IF 1 js 0
I'd give quite a lot of credit to H.G. Wells, actually...

Oh don't worry - I am! Just as long as no kids get killed in it, eh?
Mock while you can john smith.
People keep falling for this one don't they?
THEY ALL ASSUME IT HAS TO BE PART OF THE TEAM.
Well, actually, I liked the gormless Welsh guy who was
slicing up alien for kebab meat. And the corrupt Doctor
played by Anthony Patrick Head. And Tosh. But not in
that order. I like Gwen too. And the little girl who went to
live with the fairies.

What? And get edged out of the rash of themed in-jokes
on UMTM? HAHAHAHAHAHA ROTFLMAO!
Please tell us where you cross-posted from, as not all
of us choose to read that group...
...no, seriously mate, I nearly got sucked into a thread
on why Effie shouldn't really keep on seeing that rough
necked boy with the tattoos in Skins earlier this year
as I'd turned my UMTM-in-joke-RADAR to standby.
Yeah, that'd be why I said "brought it back and made it incredibly
popular".
There was nothing "mere" about it by the way. Under lesser hands the
revival could easily have flopped. But God forbid "fans" like you should
give credit where credit's due. I guess bitching about it gives you a
smug sense of deluded superiority that you wouldn't get from just
enjoying it.
Of course he will, with a scowl on his face worthy of Victor Meldrew. :-)
Many shows have a single overseeing controller throughout their entire
run, but this isn't true of Doctor Who. It has usually (or even
always?) been the case that the current "captain" intends the show to
continue after they leave. They don't have a complete plan for
the series' future, and if some detail doesn't affect whatever
character arcs and season-lengthed plots they *have* planned, they can
leave it open for their successors (or viewer interpretation).

Well, he's the only one who came back with any episode titles. Checked
'em online and they look like the ones. Gave me a place to look without
rewatching all of Seasons 3 & 4. Can't complain.
You're welcome.
"The Doctor" is the troll Mac. His technique is to call everyone else a
troll in order to blacken their characters when he cross-posts to groups
who aren't aware of his sly behaviour.
He'll call me a troll again for that, but I'm sure others will back me
up on the truth.
Got you.
