Just to be clear on this -- and this isn't an indication of who voted for
Dave, just a general comment -- votes made by the candidates, for
themselves or for others, were counted just like any other vote. There was
nothing in the ballot forbidding candidates from voting for themselves,
and I saw no reason to impose such a stipulation.

These were the results of voting for the final two moderators to make up
the team which will go on the RFD/CFV for the proposed
rec.arts.drwho.moderated newsgroup. A vote for the positions was held in
May 1999, but two of the winners subsequently were forced to drop out,
resulting in this new election.

Ah well, thanks to the 14 who voted to me and had enough faith in me
to do the job. Good luck to Alyssa and to Siobhan. It also seems a
shame that there aren't any moderators based in the UK (correct me if
I am wrong). I know the Internet has no boundaries, but to have no
one from the one place the programme came from for 26 years seems a
little sad.

Oh well, perhaps next time I'll actually vote in this thing...

Must say this was a pretty good campaign, a minimum of mudslinging,
very small amounts of soft-money slushing around and under the table
dealings. Didn't even have to bring in K'anpo for fundraising.....

Later

K'anpo's the best fundraiser I've ever seen. He can keep them hovering for

See that you are a loser, yads. Plus, why don't you consider the fact
that I was not a candidate, you git. Hence my zero votes. If I did
run, I guarantee that I would get more votes than you. Take Luke as an
example. You don't stand a chance, bud.

Personally, I wish John would discover the value of a life.

As in, getting one.

Scotland + Wales + England = Great Britain

Ireland = Lesser Britian.

Are you proposing an Active UDP for John Long? Now that is a rather
radical solution to the problem... you would probably be LART'ed by a
rather large number of news admins world-wide. John Long's behaviour is
abuse ON the 'net, *not* abuse OF the 'net. (Not yet, anyway.)
