Big Finish have currently got the following strands:
The monthly releases, currently featuring a 3-part "mini season" starring
the 5th Doctor, and set in Stockbridge (which was introduced during the 5th
Doctor's strips in DWM).
The companion chronicles.
The "lost" stories - a collection of stories that may (or may not) have been
developed for the 6th Doctor if the hiatus hadn't happened.
The 8th Doctor series (series 3 has just ended, and series 4 is about to
kick off)
And there are also a couple of spinoffs - one featuring the Cybermen, and
one featuring Iris Wildthyme.
Meanwhile, Tom Baker's 5-part story for BBC Audio, Hornet's Nest, has just
wrapped up.
And another spinoff has just reached its finale - Magic Bullet have released
the 6th part of Mad Larry's latest Faction Paradox drama, neatly ending with
Sutekh (again played by Gabriel Woolf) being buried in a pyramid on Mars,
just waiting for an encounter with the 4th Doctor.
I think that's about it at the moment!
Edmonton Needs More Beef, Get Out and Tell Your Local Burgomeister!
Jesus is The Reason for The Treason!
For Queen and Cuntry!
This is why I gave up on the audios...how can they expect anyone to keep up
with / afford all that??!
N umber 6 becomes number 2.

Yes. Although I am a small bit behind. Castle of Fear arrived last week
and I found it an enjoyable medieval romp. Not sure about the old
'monster' though. The Rutan sounded a bit like a Dalek at times. (Nick
Briggs doing a funny voice in an audio is fairly common these days, so
there are bound to be similarities I suppose!) Still, it was a nice start
to the Stockbridge trilogy.

Wrapped up in old fish and chips wrappers I hope!
I only bothered buying the first part. I did hear that Hornet's Nest is
supposed to be on BBC Radio 7 sometime next year, so if true I will wait
until then to hear the remaining parts. From what I heard in part one,
it's sounds a fairly dull story. Mike Yates is a waste of space! Although
I'm sure there are plenty of typical Paul Magrs whimsy moments.

You forgot Sherlock Holmes! (It's not DW, but as the new audio Sherlock is
the voice of the Daleks it's on-topic!)
I haven't hear the lastest 2 stories, but will get round to it soon!

The problem really is that it never quite managed to feel like a Dr Who
story. A combination of having been spoilt by Big Finish, Tom Baker not
always sounding involved, and the basic story by Paul Magrs just not quite
hanging together.

I didn't forget Holmes - I purposely excluded it! I don't count every
production that any actor ever linked to Dr Who has been in. The Scarifyers
is close though - that stars both Nick Courtney and Terry Molly, and the
latest story even features Brian Blessed (along with a few other actors
connected to the world of Who).
Having said that, I suppose Holmes has more than a passing link to Dr Who if
you include the New Adventures, which have featured not only Holmes and
Watson, but also their creator - Conan-Doyle. Holmes' brother, Mycroft, has
also turned up in both a New Adventure and a Benny audio. Mycroft was
involved in the Diogenes Club which has featured in a series by Kim Newman,
one of which (The Bloody Red Baron, which is actually part of his Anno
Dracula series) apparently includes Lady Jennifer Buckingham from the the
2nd Doctor's last story - the War Games. Kim of course also wrote a Dr Who
novella which acted as a prequel to the 1st story, An Unearthly Child.
Well I am looking forward to hearing Nick Briggs's take on the role of
Sherlock Holmes, more so because I am a Holmes fan and have all the Clive
Merrison [BBC] CD's... I wasn't worried about any DW link really, I was
just trying to whip up some interest in the Big Finish Holmes CD's. Big
Finish do a great job, so all publicity is good publicity!

Remind me never to enter a DW trivia quiz with you! :-)
That's a bloody ace series of novels! Have you read "Dracula Cha-Cha" too?
Some of Kim Newman's stuff is so-so... but some of it is amazing! His
recent short story collection "The Man From the Diogenes Club" has all sorts
of references I'm sure you'll pick up on. (He's a brilliant film critic
too. His book on horror films - "Nightmare Movies" - is a classic and
really needs to be updated...)
With a stick or a belt? Hope you ask him first...
In points.
I haven't read them yet - but I've just bought them so I've got some
material to keep me occupied during a 24 hour flight I've got to look
forward to next month.
I just came across a 2nd hand boxed set of the complete series. So I've got
them all too. Just haven't had a chance to listen to them yet.

Yeah, it's rediculous the amount of trivia I've picked up and retained.
can't remember anything useful though!
You're in for a helluva ride!
