Just to say cheers to the Watchers up in Sheffield for a great 'afternoon'
with Anthony Ainley.
It was the first Watchers event I've been to (living down south, as I do)
and it was well worth the journey (even if we did get free accomodation
staying at my mate's house in Worksop :-)).

Anthony was enthralling, charming, hysterically funny, controversial, lovely
and intriguing all in one black clothed bundle.

The atmosphere was really great.

I didn't even mind (too much) waiting for a good couple of hourse for his
autograph, because he was chatting to everyone individually, and had time
for each and every one of us.

It was a great day and I want to thank the Watchers for organising it, and
Anthony for being so brilliant.

Oh, and by the way, Anthony says he hasn't been approached by Big Finish -
WHY? He seemed eager to do it as long as the script is good (which judging
by the BF releases, wouldn't be a problem).

Come on Gary!

Oh, humour was it? Perhaps. Looked like baiting to me, to start another
bloody flame-war. Not that flame-war is the appropriate word around
here these days. That implies it is something at least semi-unusual. As
it has become the norm around here in the last few years, perhaps we
should find a new word for it.

Perhaps I am becoming cynical. But the signal-to-noise ratio here seems
to be hitting an all-time low.

No Ainley wont be in BF, the production team are too busy writing 10
scripts a week to make sure that Bonnie Langford is in all of them
from now on.....

How many Doctor Who fans does it take to change a lightbulb?
None, they just sit around and wait for it to come back on.

Probably because he will almost certainly charge Ł100,000 per episode.

Hmmm, and I bet Bonnie Langford is doing it for free and for love.

If you don't have anything useful to say, why not just keep it to yourself?

Oh dear, another sense of humour failure. That's what I love about

fandom, it's so up it's own arse.

Well he did the "Destiny of the Doctors" game so he can't be that worried
about fantastic scripts and a huge fee.
