CSO - Convention of the Sunshine CapitOl
CSO is being held on 24-26 April 1998 at the Brisbane Travelodge, Roma
Street Station. The Brisbane Travelodge is centrally located above the
Roma Street Railway Station, and is convenient to all forms of transport
into our city.
The guests we have invited are as follows:
Caroline John (Liz Shaw, Jon Pertwee's first companion, 1970)
and Geoffrey Beavers (Master - The Keeper of Traken)
They will be sharing with us their wealth of experiences in the
entertainment industry, with of course the spotlight being their time in
Doctor Who.
We have also approached some Doctor Who stars who currently live in
Australia. They will be added to the list as they are confirmed.
The registration fees for the convention operate in a similar way to
most other conventions ie. an incremental increase as the convention
draws nearer.
The schedule of rates is listed below:
Pay by 31 July 1997 - $70 per person
Pay by 31 December 1997 - $90 per person
Up till April 24 1998 - $110.00 per person
We also have attractive day registration rates. The Friday night
cocktail party is only $20 per person. Day rates for Saturday and
Sunday are only $50 per day.
Details of accommodaton cost can be made available when you register for
the convention.

is coming to Scotland for an intimate special event hosted by Glasgow
Doctor Who group TIME INC.
The event will be held at:

5.30pm - late
There'll be interviews with the man himself, a signing session, clips,
videos and a bar open til late. 50 attendees is the maximum for this
event.

The Event
INFINITY, will be three fun action packed days of, Stage Appearances
by our many guests and Discussion Panels covering such diverse topics
such as "How does the Doctor regenerate?" to "What is this thing called
Fandom?"
We will entertain you with Video Rooms running non stop throughout the
event showing episodes of all the latest popular science fiction and
telefantasy programmes. The Dealers Room will have a variety of
merchandise and collectibles on sale. You can test your general knowledge
with our Quizzes. Compete in our Art or Fiction competitions. Or even
enter our Filk, Drama or Fancy Dress competitions. There will be Autograph
Sessions, a Charity Auction, a writers workshop, a Midnight Horror Reading,
an All Night Film Show and there will be a Fancy Dress DISCO with a Band
on the Saturday evening. You can even dine with our guests at the Guest
Banquet. Finally if you have time, you may even want to sleep.
The INFINITY Science Fiction Convention, is a fan run event organised
by SF Fantasy Cardiff & Station Kronos One, with the proceeds being
donated to the children's cancer charity the Christian Lewis Trust.
REGISTRATION RATES
Adult (15+)
Full 3 day: 40 until pounds 1 June 1998 - 45 pounds at the door
Children (6-14)
Full 3 day: 20 pounds until 1 June 1998 - 25 pounds at the door
Accompanied Children Five Years And Under FREE
Supporting Registration 10 pounds
Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult
(1 and 2 day rates available)
Dealers Tables.
Tables are available at 50 pounds per table for professional dealers and
25 pounds per table for amateurs.
Club and Convention Room.
As a courtesy to other clubs and convention committees we have set aside
a number of tables for clubs and conventions to advertise their events
and to sell registrations
Convention Book Advertising.
We will be producing an A4 black and white convention book. Advertising
rates are as follows:
Professional advertisiers
whole page 70 pounds, half page 50 pounds and quarter page 30 pounds
Amateur advertisers
whole page 40 pounds, half page 30 pounds and quarter page 20 pounds

sceduled to set sail between the 5th & 12th of July 1998. Guests this time
