Quatermass predates Dr Who by 10 years.
And a new production was on TV last night.

He means was the actor suitable to play Doctor Who as well. And the
answer is no. Charisma-less chap.

I was referring to the BBC 4 production. I know about the 1950s work.

I missed it (recorded on Sky+) but my step-dad said it was terminally
boring and not at all scary unlike the original 50s production which
he vividly remembers.

Dare me not good news. What about keeping the energy and momentum
during a reprise?

he fell asleep half way through.
My Dad also remembers it very well. He said there was nothing else like it
then. Both he and I were a little confused at first- was it set in the 50's
or modern day, as the some references and haircut looked 50's but the man
and wife in the car and the tv meant it must be modern day. We noticed one
mess up went the journlist returned to the office, just before breakfast--
he had forgotton his lines!
We still haven't finshed watching it- my dad found it too slow. Although he
hates modern films and dramas that go too fast!
Much of it reminded me of the ambassadors of death-- clearly ripping off
quatermass wholesale!

Spearhead from Space ripped off Quatermass 2, Fendahl ripped off
Quatermass and the Pit. Anything rip off the conclusion?

Have you ever compared Quatermass and the Pit to The Daemons, or the
opening bits of Quatermass II to Spearhead from Space..?
People still parked in the woods even in our parent's (grandparents?)
day, y'know :o)
I'm not sure when it was set, stylistically certainly it was very 1950s
but the rest of the world was modern.

he covered it well though, in a rush to get something out people do
stumble over their words.

Although he

I found the sound a bit bad - I suppose that's why movies have to redub
lines sometimes.

environmentally conscientous writing - let nothing go to waste :o)

It was edited for the repeat.
