EXPLANATIONS, EXPANSIONS, AND EXPOSITIONS...
THE SEVEN YEAR MORTORIUM: Well, in reality it doesn't exist. If it did,
we would all be watching Sleeping Beauty right now. Generally, however,
videos are released on a 7 year rotation. The Little Mermaid, which was
pulled from production in 1990, should come back around in 1997. This,
however, is pending approval by the Walt Disney Co., Buena Vista Home
Video, and whatever feature the animation department is trying to plug
right at that moment. If Disney is going to distribute Fantasia
Continued in 1997, they might not rerelease TLM at the same time. In
conclusion, it's a nice model, but not a guarantee.
