My mom wants to know if Sterling Holloway was the voice for Smee. She'd also
like to know as many of the voices he did as possible. The one I remember
that she knew was the Cheshire (sp?) cat, and maybe Pooh.

Mr. Smee was voiced by Bill Thompson (check your copy of the FAQ :-) ).

Also from the FAQ, Sterling Holloway did the voices of:
the Stork from Dumbo
Flower the skunk from Bambi
Cheshire Cat from Alice In Wonderland
narrator for Lambert, the Sheepish Lion
Kaa from the Jungle Book
Roquefort the mouse from the Aristocats

and everyone's favorite bear who's stuffed with fluff. :-)
If he did other Disney voices, I'd like to know too.

A bear of very little brain.

Lambert, the sheepish Lion
Lambert is alway tryin'
To be a wild and wooly sheep
Instead of a sheepish lion

Gadzooks! I still remember that song. Spooky.

No, he didn't do the voice of Smee from "Peter Pan."

However, in addition to the Cheshire Cat and Pooh, he also did the stork from
"Dumbo," the narrator in "Lambert, the Sheepish Lion," the narrator in
"Mickey and the Beanstalk." I think there's more but this is all I can
remember off the top of my head.

Are you sure about this one? Those don't sound like the same voices at all
to me. Listen to, "Oh that's alright, he can call me a flower if he wants
to" and you'll know why I'm questioning it!

Yeah, but the voice of Flower his "second" year sure sounds like it could
be. Maybe one person did the young Flower and someone else did the "adult"
Flower. Just a guess.

Didn't S.H. also do the voice of Ka (the snake) in The Jungle Book?

Sterling was _not_ the original narrator of Mickey & the Beanstalk. That
appeared in "Fun and Fancy Free", and Edgar Bergen did the narration. There
was a later version released as a 'short' wherein Sterling filled in the
narration.

That's 'Kaa', and yes, it was Sterling.

I've already set it straight by email, but in case people didn't know by
now, if you have a spare few hundred kilobytes free you can get all this
by a few simple commands:

radfind -n Sterling Holloway

Sterling Holloway

Disney Roles:
Dumbo (1941); Stork
Bambi (1942); Flower
The Three Caballeros; Narrator
Make Mine Music
Alice in Wonderland (1951); Cheshire Cat
The Jungle Book (1967); Kaa
The Aristocats (1970); Roquefort
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977); Winnie the Pooh
Films:
Cheers for Miss Bishop (1941)
It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, World (1963); Fire Chief
Lambert, the Sheepish Lion (1952); Narrator {short}
Thunder and Lightning (1977)
Notes:
Died: late 1992

Nope. No Smee there. Let's try:

radfind -t Peter Pan -c Smee

Bill Thompson

Disney Roles:
Peter Pan (1953); Mr Smee, pirates

Ah. Simple, huh?

Yes, all right, he did *one* of the voices for Flower then.

All up, there were three people who voiced Flower:

radfind -t Bambi -c Flower

Stanley Alexander

Disney Roles:
Bambi (1942); Flower

Tim Davis

Disney Roles:
Bambi (1942); Thumper, Flower

Sterling Holloway

Disney Roles:
Bambi (1942); Flower

That could be. Gee, guess I'll have to watch "Bambi" all over again! :)
