A coworker (who goes to Disney all the time) told me that they got to
bypass the huge line at Test Track because a member of their party was a
former GM employee.

Is this still true? Does it apply to relatives? (My husband's father
worked for GM for 30 years.)

Thanks for any tips!

Sandi

All of the participant attractions have participant lounges. If you
qualify, you usually already know... the qualified person requires
credentials and simply needs to show those to the greeter at the beginning
of the queue. Once you've done this, you will be directed to the
participant lounge (GM in this case) There, an employee of GM will verify
your credentials and usually invite you in for a complimentary soft drink...
then the good part. You usually do get to bypass lines. This is one of the
benefits to sponsoring a Disney attraction!

I think you have to have the GM employee with you. I remember when World Of
Motion was still around, my family went upstairs, bypassing the line. When we
got upstairs, they asked for my dads GM ID (he'll have 27 years next month). I
dont know if they still do it that way, but I wouldnt be surprised if they did.

Well.....today I saw a group of people (a family) walk right in the exit,
flash some card to a CM, and then he escorted them right on to the
ride......I dunno.

Hi Sandi,
there is an entrance for GM employees . The employee has to have
their GM ID with them.you go to a lounge where drinks are available. Then you
take an elevator to the head of the line.

That might have been one of the cards that groups get when they reach the final
line area and Test Track shuts down. If they have to get everyone out of the
building, they give cards to skip to the front of the line when it's up and
running again.

Cheers!

During the portion of the ride when you are "testing" anti-lock brakes, look up
at the wall to the right and you will see a couple of windows. That appears to
be an "observation deck" for the GM VIP lounge. I visited the Coca-Cola VIP
lounge at The American Adventure when I was working for Coke in Atlanta a few
years ago. It was nice to get away from the huddled masses. The absolute best
part of it though was having a "private" bathroom. Ok, so there is a little
George Kastanza in me. ;)

Absolutly correct. If you are a GM employee, go into the door just to the
right of the queue and go to the elevator. push the button and the person at
the other end will ask what you need. Tell them you are a GM employee and
they will direct you what to do. It does get you to the head of the loooong
line and we rode it 3 times in a row, get off and walk right back on, what a
rush.
