I'm new at this rent a car stuff and have a couple of questions.

I used a discount code from this notesfile to get a good rate on an
intermediate car. I really want a standard but there was a questionnarie on
the Dollar web page that indicated that I could get a free upgrade certificate.

Does the certificate come in the mail at a later time? Do I tell them that I
want an upgrade before I pick up the car or when I get to the Orlando airport?

Many thanks for the help!
...Lisa

PS The best rate I got was using the kiss discount code. The other codes,
sport, tag, new, and globe resulted in higher rates.

Help.

Where do you enter the code (kiss, sport, etc.) at the Dollar web site. I tried
putting them all in both the promotion and corporate discount boxes and got
the same $179 rate I'd already been quoted.

Thanks,

I put the codes in the "Promotion Code" box when I was checking rates. I'd get
a rate, and browse back to the screen and put in a different code and get
another rate.

I did get three different sets of rates...not all codes generate unique
rates...but I did find one that was vastly different from the rest (using
kiss).

Good luck!

Whatever you do do not rely on an upgrade. It does state that you cannot use it
with any other promtion code. Some get it,some dont. We didnt and were relying
on an upgrade. They were out of cars and ended up spending a fortune on a Jeep.
I would definately book the car you need, then you may end up with a better
one.

Martin
who is really p##### off with dollar at the moment. However I am giving them a
chance to put it write.

I just did sport in the promo code. It worked fine.

I also found today that I got the best rate by putting *nothing* in the
"promotion code" box. (I mean leaving it blank, not entering "nothing".)
This gave me the same rate as "sport", and lower than "globe". (My usual
standard, "globe", gave me nothing.)

It seems that rates have gone lower and lower as I've gotten closer to my
trip (arriving a week from today). Maybe by the time I arrive, they'll hand
me one of the new Andy Jacksons to take one of their cars for a week.

Does Dollar Rental have their cars right at the airport or do you have to
take a shuttle to get to their lot ?

We found Dollar to be a hard site to navigate through and we cannot find
the rate codes. Try Alamo...We got an four door intermediate sized car
(one larger than a compact) for 1 week (Sat to Sat) on Alamo with
unlimited Miles for $87.19 for the week. Go to WWW.ALAMO.COM and choose
the 20% off Internet Specials. It puts the rate code in for you. It was
much easier to navigate and the price was great!! We are going to be
there 1-30 to 2-6. Hope this helps.
