--------------------------------------------------------------------
Last morning, and of course Im in my usual panic mode. Did everything
get packed? Did I miss anything? Still, somehow we got it all
together, had some breakfast, dropped off the bags, and made it to the
Magic Kingdom in time for opening.
We headed straight for the Harmony Barber Shop, to see Bryan Ripper from
the All About the Mouse Disney Podcast get his hair Pixie-Dusted for
charity. Being a fan of the podcast (and a former guest), I wanted to
catch one of the meets, and I thought this one was really special.
Bryan agreed to do this if his listeners would raise at least $200.00
for Give Kids the World. Well, they raised over $2,000.00! We had
never really checked out the Harmony Barber Shop before, either, so it
was fun to see someone we know get their hair done. And Bryan was a
good sport about the whole thing. (I got the special privilege of
holding the sacred microphone, LOL.)
At this point, being our last day, we decided to head out on our own.
We stopped for a couple of photogs (something Rocky hates, but I managed
to talk him into it a few times). Our time was coming to an end, but
managed to get in one last attraction: the Haunted Mansion. And, oddly
enough, we ended up in the stretch room with the All About the Mouse
gang. It was the first time Id done this where a large portion of the
guests were reciting along with the ghost house and you should have
heard the scream! LOL.
Next, we did something incredibly brave in hindsight. We took the
monorail to Epcot. Honestly, had I heard the whole story of folks being
trapped on the monorail for three hours the night before, I might have
opted for a bus. But wed only heard the slightest blip on the news
that morning, and Rocky had me convinced that it was an old story they
were repeating, LOL. Probably odds are infinitesimal that it would
happen again the next day but still, had I heard the whole story, Im
not sure I would have done that. (I did, however, make sure I stopped
at the little girls room on the way to the monorail station, just in
case.)
We enter Epcot and run into lots and lots of tour groups. This just
seemed to be the day for it. I think they were the cause of a
bottleneck at Spaceship Earth. I would have liked another ride on this,
but not if it means a long wait, so HM ended up being the last
attraction of the trip.
Lunch at Sunshine Seasons, a bit more wandering, and then it was back to
BWV, to wait for DME. I was a bit surprised that we were picked up by a
Mears bus, instead of the Disney bus we had on the way here. I realize
that its all Mears, but just thought that Disney maybe should have
explained that your bus might not say Magical Express on it, for those
who might not think to ask.
We were the only ones to get on at BWV, but there were already a handful
of people aboard, and the next stop (Caribbean Beach Resort) had a huge
line of people. Our flight was scheduled to leave at 4:15, and we
boarded the bus about 1:05 or 1:10. We were surprised by the number of
people who were eating lunch on the bus. I mean, TONS of people got on
the bus with big bags of food, and just proceeded to have a picnic. It
just seemed odd.
When we got on the bus, they were playing some strange NPR radio
program, but once we were officially on the way to the airport, they
started a Disney video. This bus didnt have very many TV screens, but
I was able to see one okay. The leaving video is different than the
arriving one more about how to plan your *next* visit, instead of
being excited about your current one.
We made decent time to the airport, and entered the insanely long line
for Southwest Airlines. We thought being picked up three hours before
our flight might seem a little early, but it wasnt. By the time we got
our bags checked, and made it through security, there was just a short
wait until our flight left.
We had a couple of amusing flight attendants on the way home, and all in
all, a good flight. The felines were all happy to see us, and it was
back to our regularly scheduled program.
Last minute thoughts? ROTFLMAO! I think Ive given you all WAY too
many thoughts already, during this horribly constructed rambling of
mine. So, I will just say that all in all, it was a good trip and I
cant wait for the next one! And if youre still here, thanks for reading!

Awww, thanks! (http://bashfulvegan.blogspot.com)
And yes, it's Columbus, Ohio... or about 40 minutes north-east of it.
Hi! :-)

Great job on the trip report. I hope Rocky will agree to come back next
December. It might be a little easier on him now that he's met some of
the RADP folks. It won't be like he's with all strangers anymore. The
hardest part (the first time) is done.
I know you won't have any problem next year. You were such a social
butterfly this time. LOL!
And BTW, your handouts at the Big Meet were NOT stupid. I thought they
were very original and quite thoughtful.

great TR, Kitty! Fun to read, and even though I am not a vegan, I do
enjoy well-prepared vegetables, so looking forward to your blog on
allears as well.

I have to agree with Jack. Your handout was awesome. I wore mine on a
belt loop for the rest of the week. Thanks so much. I hope you had as
much fun as I did at all of the RADP meets. And I hope we didn't scare
Rocky too much.
Kitty, thanks for taking the time to write it - I really enjoyed reading
it. Are you coming to RADP XV next year??? I hope so!

They didn't try to sell you anything? Like Photopass stuff? :-)

Thanks for writing it. Not that hard, was it? :-)
It's always interesting to read how others do WDW...

LOL! I'm glad it's not just me that is like this!

Maybe it's just me, but I find that a bit rude. I mean, snacking or
having a beverage is OK, but having a "meal" on a bus like that just
isn't right.

Next WDW Vacation?
Who knows!
Need to know more about RADP (rec.arts.disney.parks)?
Thanks Jack! Next December is a possibility... we'll see.

LOL - social butterfly? Just a bit of an exaggeration there, I think.

missed you in my report, didn't I?)

Thanks! Yes, I did have fun, and Rocky seems to have survived, so it's
all good. (Arggghhh! Another name I missed in my report!)

Awww... thanks! RADP XV? We're not ready to commit to it yet, but
there's a very real possibility. I'll let you know. :-)

Ah ha! Now that makes sense. (But it was still odd.)

Hmmm... now that you mention it, they might have. They certainly wanted
to make sure we booked our next WDW vacation soon - told us how there
are so many reasons to visit at different times of the year, etc.

Yup - we've certainly learned some good tips from RADPers, which often
makes their trips similar to ours (especially when they're there at the
same time as us, LOL)... but then each guest also has their unique
preferences, which is fun to read, too!
(which is the real reason I wrote the trip report - because I enjoy
everyone else's so much. well, that, and the peer pressure, LOL.)
