Tim just texted me. He's sitting in the airport getting ready to board his
plane for WDW to run the 1/2 marathon. He was so excited, he pulled an
all-nighter last night. He'll be busy checking in and registering for the
race today. Tomorrow he's got an appointment to speak to someone about DVC.
Saturday is the race. And Sunday and Monday he'll be park touring before he
comes home Tuesday. He promised us he wouldn't have any fun! Sara, my 8 yr
old, had climbed into his suitcase at one point and begged to be allowed to
go with him! Unfortunately she's over the weight limit!

Now I just gotta cross my fingers that he'll cross the finish line in one
piece! This is his first marathon.

this is so exciting. i would be CRAZY if my husband was at WDW and I was
not especially for such an exciting time. Can't wait to hear
how he does! Lisa

I'm a day or so from booking a Feb. business trip to West Palm Beach, but
I'll be flying direct to MCO and driving the rest of the way. Hard to
promise I won't have any fun between airport and work. AP discount gets me
$70/night at an Allstar, vs $150/night near the business trip. I think I'll
drive down the day of the meeting... just saving money, boss.

Oh, and my family is none too impressed with me either. They'll just have to
wait till the April vacation we've already planned.

A friend of mine once had a business trip to Orlando and realized
that he would save his company several hundred dollars if he went
a day or two early and stayed over a Saturday night. They were so
grateful that they paid for him to stay at WDW for a couple of
nights--and they still came out ahead.

Wow, gotta apply for a job at his company! That would be awesome!

Well, my consolation is I can work the guilt from this trip for the next
couple of months. I figure I'll be able to sleep in every weekend for the
next month. And I probably won't even have to touch dog poop! That and I
just booked my flight for California!

Michelle,

Good luck to him - I hope he has a terrific first race - I know my
Disney World half marathon was most excellent. Please let us know how
he does!
